Local Outreach
We are always looking to our community to fill the needs of our neighbors. Please let us know about opportunities to serve locally, and we can look at putting together a team to fill needs.
We currently have two ministries that meet on a regular basis to pass out food to those who are food insecure. If you would like to donate money to help support either ministry, please visit our donations page. If you would rather donate your time, please visit our volunteer page.
Bread Ministry
Every Saturday evening volunteers from Cork UMC pick up donated bread, cookies, cakes, etc from Panera Bread on South Florida Avenue in Lakeland. The bread is delivered to the church on Sunday morning. It is available for church members to distribute to individuals/families that will benefit from it.
Feeding Friends in the Park
Every first Friday, third Wednesday and fifth Monday we provide a meal for those in need. It is prepared and served by volunteers from Cork UMC at 5:00 p.m. at the Winter Visitors Center, 301 N. Dort St., Plant City.
